One day, a decision is made: Amel, a 12 year-old orphan, must leave. There is no other choice: her country is at war. Unfortunately, nothing goes as planned. At the border, the family accompanying her loses her, and Amel finds herself alone. On the road, she meets Bacem, a deserter who plays the oud. Together, child and soldier learn to put themselves back together again.
