Christian Garcin is a seasoned traveler whose writing is inspired by his numerous wanderings around the world. Tanguy Viel is far more sedentary, almost taking as his motto Beckett's words: "We're dumb, but not so dumb as to travel for fun." Together, they challenged themselves to travel the world, from the Americas to Siberia, through Japan and China, without ever boarding a plane.
This book was born of those travels, enriched with playful lists and letters to friends about colorful encounters. Travelling is, above all, an unforgettable literary meditation on the eternal Journey, our relationship to space and time, and the confrontation between the real and the imagined.
