The environment has been givne top billing for some time now, but few global figures have developed programs for sustainable development that are both realistic and effective. An exception is Pierre Caye, head of research at the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). This essay constitutes an unprecedented attempt to transform our tools of production. In order to be sustainable, capital becomes our assets and holdings, work is devoted to maintenance, and meanwhile, technology serves us as a protective sheath. Pierre Caye rejects partisan ideologies, uniting the political fringe by bringing change in line with our practices and conservation with our civilizations.
