A collection about young detectives in training with an interest in ecology.

Louis and Susie are spending their summer vacation at their great-aunt’s farm. When they head out to explore, they discover a pond that hasn't yet dried up despite the heatwave. It's full of fish with globular eyes and tadpoles with six legs. A few days later, they've gotten up at dawn to go fishing when they hear an engine roaring and see the beam of a lamp in the night. They will discover that the neighboring plant is dumping hazardous waste into the pond.
