As an artist, Raphaèle Bernard-Bacot is a "pollinator." For two years, she roamed the greater Parisian region meeting with urban gardeners. From the former working class gardens in Garches to urban farms in Versailles, co-op gardens atop and at the foot of apartment towers, she sketched flowers, fruits, and vegetables, aas well as those who took care of them.
The result: 54 pages of impressionnistic sketches bursting with gardening anecdotes, complemented by short, poetic pieces that paint a tender, humorous portrait of these urban gardeners.
