Yann Mens depicts daily life in an African country, the role of NGOs, and the danger children face everyday.

Soyann walks towards the city like his mother told him to, before collapsing from hunger: "Walk straight ahead. Over there the food is coming."
In an African country devastated by civil war, men are either off fighting or dead. The families are leaving their villages.
The sound of a plane diverts Soyann from his route. He know the plane is carrying loads of food, so he rushes across the savannah, unaware it is full of landmines.
Along the track, Paola, a nurse from an NGO, sees the child. She wants to rescue him, but that would put her life at risk, something her young bodyguard won't allow.
Yann Mens returns to a subject dear to his heart: Africa.
