Bastien is 8 and his mother is ill. She often has "attacks." According to the doctors, she suffers from "bipolar schizoaffective disorder." That's why she must regularly be taken to the hospital and specialized establishments for medication. Bastien doesn't love that, for when she comes back, she's an unresponsive blank. Drawing on his own life, Espé delivers a tale as personal as it is universal, about a child lost in a reality where imagination is his only refuge. In his eyes, we see nothing but pain and incomprehension over his mother's condition.
