Paris is on fire. The narrator has no choice but to get his two children to safety. They flee the city with the hope of reaching the Republic of Jura. Everything falls apart so quickly. Communication channels, the institutions, the old world and humanity.
The father doesn’t care who is fighting who. His only mission is to protect his family from the cruelty around them. They travel by car, by donkey and often on foot. The journey is long.
But their path is lit up by the beauty of nature and the kindness of a few people. What lies at the end of the road? Even if the Republic of Jura exists and they find it, is it possible to live peacefully in a war-torn country?
