Over the course of a century, Rue des Quatre-Vents has seen many people come and go, be born and grow up—people who've contributed to forging its identity. These days, Suong Mai from Vietnam, Bako from Mali, and Najib from Afghanistan call it home. But yesterday, and yesteryear, the street was home to Marco the Italian, Mikhaiil the Russian Jew, Marcel from the Auvergne region of France, Anastas from Armenia, and many more. The people of Rue des Quatre-Vents have known war, economic crises, forced deportation to their homelands, weddings, and births... These populations have slowly mingled with people already living nearby, creating a France enriched by intermarriage.
