Afghanistan, 2014: cousins Adil and Shafi are 12 and 14. They try to lead a normal childhood despite the suicide attacks that regularly make their daily lives a blood-spattered experience. But when Adil’s father dies, his life changes. His uncle Kunzar, a religious fundamentalist, sends him to a Koranic school. There, Adil learns how to use a gun, preparing to die as a martyr.
