Yann loves selling fish in Portsall harbor with his fisherman father –evey step from hawking their wares to laying them out on ice. But one stormy day, the winds bring a bad smell and worse news across the wild waves: an oil tanker, the Amoco Cadiz, has run aground. Locals will have to band together to save their beaches –200 miles of Breton coastline– the animals that live there, and their own livelihoods.
This graphic novel about the tragic oil spill includes appendices with suggestions for further reading about big oil, environmental disasters, and how we as citizens can help.
