This tract traces the transformations of jihadisme in Europe from the fall of the Berlin Wall up to its current state after the collapse of the Islamic State (Daesh). It exposes the mechanisms and highlights a fateful trap: that of believing jihad on a global scale has disappeared every time it undergoes a period of change. In the space of a generation, jihadist ideas have spread throughout European societies and now pose a political and societal problem that demands consideration.
