Ray's been fighting all the time, ever since he was a boy. He's drowning in rage. He thinks the world's an awful place. Is it because he's poor? Black? Because his dad left? Middle school is no better. Ray's always getting punished. Until a new principal offers to box with him instead of giving him detention. Watch out! A new road opens before him. But for starters, he has to learn how to breathe. Through sports, the principal leads the young man down a long path toward reconciling with himself.
