In this utterly original inquiry, Mathilde Saliou exposes the underside of a world largely made by and for men: discriminatory effects of algorithms on our society, biased tech financing by predominantly male venture capitalists, the way Big Tech constantly forces individuals' consent to profit from their data... Interviewing women academics, programmers, activists, and pioneers, Saliou methodically dissects the origins and tangible effects of such marginalisation on our societies, but also identifies means of resisting the discriminatory architecture of the digital world, ways of taking power in order to design technofeminist futures.
