Ben works in a large publishing house, where all he gets to do is write rejection letters to unlucky authors. But one day, he comes across a manuscript that could give his career a life-saving boost. He sets off for Hoax-on-Wood, the world's Christmas capital, with its hot chocolate contests, horse-drawn carriage races, and famous marathon, to talk the manuscript’s mysterious author into signing a publishing contract. The writer offers Ben a peculiar deal: if Ben can put a smile back on his daughter Laly’s face, he'll get his book.
Will the pathologically shy and Christmas-phobic Ben manage to fulfil his mission?
