1936: Jean and his friends René, Claude, Suzanne, and Luigi spend their days on soccer games, fishing afternoons, and school. One Sunday, they find their parents glued to the radio: a new political party that supports workers has been elected. Jean and his friends witness strikes and demonstrations outside factories, intrigued by the excitement and enthusiasm of the protesters. But only later does Jean the importance of these demands, when his parents get their first paid vacations and take him to the shore!
