When school ends, Gwendoline cracks. She runs away from high school, hateful text messages, her dad's awkwardness, the absence of her older sister, the way her mom looks at her body, and what she puts on Gwendoline's plate. She hides away in the countryside, with grandparents she doesn't know well. Next door, her cousin Maëlle drags her into her daily life of friends, town festivals, and above all, beekeeping. Maëlle is passionate about these underappreciated insects that, much like her, know how to defend themselves.
Meanwhile, a mystery obsesses Gwendoline, who's convinced a crime was committed in this hamlet 17 years ago. Together with her cousin, she is determined to solve the case!
