They were born in distant places, and yet they live in much the same way… in their own fashion. Their days follow the same rhythm – the nest, meals, friends – but each experiences them differently. One day, when a storm hits his tree, the woodpecker is forced to leave home. He finds shelter in a new tree, on a new branch – where the tit lives. The story unfolds in a mirror structure: each stage of their encounter is told by both birds in turn.
