When Lilu's parents are murdered in the Sahara, he is adopted by Touaregs at age four and raised as a member of their tribe. One day, on a desert expedition, a sandstorm separates him from them. Taken in by a group of radical Islamist converts, and then a UN aid camp, Lilu soon learns of the conflicts between humans in a world suddenly far vaster than the one he knew.
A coming-of-age novel against a spectacular backdrop that tackles very contemporary issues and questions all dogma.
