In May 2019, Europeans elected a new Parliament in a climate of growing skepticism toward the European Union, often seen as technocratic and responsible for economic and migrant crises as well as decreased buying power. However, building a unified Europe remains a vital project: with a stagnating population of 530 million, were Europe to be isolated, it would be marginalized by the major world powers. How can we reinvent the European project in a way that revives support from its citizens? Consistency and utility must be restored, as they are indispensable to galvanizing people toward the cause of a common adventure and saving their future.
