Mary, a 10-year-old girl from New York, contemplates the beautiful architecture of her city in puddles after the rain. Suddenly, her own reflection takes the form of another little girl: her ancestor Carol. Thus begins a journey through time and space in the city, where Mary and Carol get to know each other as they contemplate the transformation of the city and its reflection, like a game of spot-the-differences between two eras: the modern day and a century ago. Pierre-Emmanuel Lyet worked on-site to paint and observe the city through the eyes of these two girls, bringing to life the atmospheres of New York past and present.
