Tatiana and Pascal are interested in off-the-grid, alternative living, designing a self-sustaining house inspired by architect Michael Reynolds' "earthship." Aided by communitu volunteers, they began building their own home. Today, they are almost entirely self-sufficient in terms of energy, water, and food, thanks to their permaculture garden. In this book, they share their experiences, giving out recipes for earth-based coatings and plasters and advice for building walls from bottles or tires, as well as detailing the low-tech solutions they put in place to reduce their energy consumption. These handy tips and tricks will inspire readers and provide much food for thought.
