Although this book is not a biography, it traces step by step the key stages in André Malraux’s life, through his commitments, his tireless quest to understand art and the Imaginary Museum, as well as questions regarding brotherhood of arms and communion with the transcendent, experienced outside of any established faith, as a convinced agnostic. Nothing escaped his lucidity. But until the end, he never abandoned his belief that "one of the highest powers of art is to make men aware of the greatness they don’t see within themselves."
